Landscape Design Templates
Benton Conservation District in consultation with Akana, a Native American owned firm that provides landscape architecture services, have develop the landscape templates below to inspire homeowners on how to incorporate native plants under a variety of conditions. Funding for development of the templates was provided by the Municipal Subgroup of the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan through a Washington State Department of Ecology Grant.
Lower Columbia Basin Template
(Tri-Cities/Yakima/Moses Lake) Site Template – Full Sun, Sandy Soil

This design goes out to all our Heritage Gardeners who want to be more firewise. This template is designed for slightly higher precipitation zones in the upper Columbia Basin.
